ah. i know this one well. many an occasion. with some girls its - ok i can deal with friendship, with others its a straight slam door, bolt the gates and fill the moat. even when they are cool with it at first, on my end its about curving that love into friend love (observing breath as she dates asshole after asshole) but in the end there is always that tinge. sometimes i think any day she turns around and still wants me ill be there. but then as time goes on i look back and see: u know what, that wouldnt have worked out in the end. (maybe this itself is self preservation i dont know)

its important to be honest but its also very easy for the mind to get carried away with its own delusion. desire is a drug (very addictive) and leads to many scary things, particularly in men. even so its good to tell because if she runs away like that it stops you from clinging on with that false hope that one day she will change her mind. it saves you from thinking about her in those moments of loneliness.

open and ready for the next Girl to enter your life. (easier said then done, im a victim of my own delusions)
